Environmentally Sensitive Farming
We farm in a manner sympathetic to the environment and leave as many wild
areas as possible to encourage beneficial insects and wildlife. The Alder
Carr - an area of wet woodland - is an official SWT Otter haven. Over 70
bird and 250 plant species have been recorded on the farm. We use biological
control of pests and only spray when absolutely necessary; we use the most
benign chemicals we can choose and many crops receive no sprays at all.
Old farming adage:
"Live as though you'll die tomorrow,
but
farm as though you'll live forever."
