Farmers' Markets

We have decided that the time has come to move on from holding farmers' markets at Alder Carr. Over the last 13 years our market has played its part in raising awareness of the importance of local food and we are sure the farmers' market movement will continue to grow and prosper in towns and cities everywhere, which offer the right conditions.

We have enjoyed the opportunities and friendships it has brought us and we would like to say thank you to all the stallholders and customers who have supported us.

When we started in 1998, it was a completely novel concept; only Bath and Bristol were running. We enjoyed being involved in the growth of the Farmers' Market movement and the development of the FARMA certification scheme for markets with genuine farmers and producers - now there are hundreds of farmers' markets throughout Britain.

At Alder Carr we will continue to develop our links with local food producers in Suffolk and work on seasonal celebrations of local food like our successful Strawberry Fayre. See our events page for details of upcoming events.
