Butchery
Come along and meet our friendly team who will be happy to help

Our butchery offers a range of high quality & locally sourced meat. We have local beef & lamb, free range pork, & free range chicken from Hog & Hen at Debenham & Sutton Hoo. Look out for locally caught wild game, including venison, and even the occasional goat (raised, not wild!)

Open: Tue - Sat 9:30am- 4:30pm
Outside of these hours you can find a range or pre-packed meat available in the shop.

Why not try some of our award winning Sausages. A delectable treat! Bursting with meaty goodness and made from locally sourced pork, look no further. Highly recommended!

Christmas

All you need for Christmas from locally sourced free-range bronze turkeys, from Hog & Hen at Debenham and TW Long at Rougham. Our own hand prepared turkey breast rolls, ribs of beef, all finished off with our award-winning sausages & chipolatas and pig-in-blankets, delicious!

Christmas orders now being taken.

Pork

Our Classic sausages win Gold in the Great British Food Awards 2023! 

And we use the same recipe to make our chipolatas, pigs in blankets, sausage meat and our own delicious handmade scotch eggs! 

Our pork is locally sourced from the Suffolk heritage coast mainly from the Butler family who run Blythburgh Free-Range Pork.   

The Blythburgh Pig is considered by many chefs to be a breed in its own right because of the rich marbling running through the pork that is synonymous with native, slower growing breeds. It is built around two key breeds the ginger haired Jersey Red Duroc and the Yorkshire Large White calm natured with outstanding mothering abilities that can cope with all the British weather can throw at it.

Beef

Sourced primarily from Suffolk we offer a range of top quality beef cuts, and our own hand made beef burgers, also served in the Courtyard Café.

Chicken

We work with Hog & Hen at Debenham, Sutton Hoo & Diaper Poultry  for our whole chickens.  Hog & Hen are truly passionate about their hens, slow grown & free range, they aren’t cheap, but you will be simply amazed how tasty a chicken can be! 

Lamb

We work with Shimpling Park farm for our lamb.  Based just outside Bury St Edmunds, all their lamb is 100% organic.  Their Romney sheep have been specially selected to fit as naturally as possible into their landscape.  They graze their pastures 365 days / year, and give birth naturally outside, free from stress. 

Game

Locally sourced venison and pheasant, as available.  If there is something particular you are after do give us a call.
